I have applied what happens next?
Once the College receives your application, résumé and academic transcripts the following steps remain to be eligible to become an Officer Cadet in the Canadian Coast Guard Officer Training Program:
- Confirmation you have met or are in the process of meeting the educational requirement. (This is confirmed with transcripts and proof of enrollment)
Only candidates that meet the above element will move to the following assessments:
- a written exam
- an interview
- pass a seapharer’s medical
- obtain a security clearance
When candidates meet all the essential requirements, they will be placed in a pool of eligible candidates. Candidates will be selected from the pool of eligible candidates to enter into the Canadian Coast Guard Officer Training Program. Please note there may be more qualified candidates than positions available in the CCGOTP. Meeting all essential qualifications and being placed in a pool of eligible candidates does not guarantee a spot in the program.
Selected candidates will usually begin the program the last week in August. Travel arrangements will be arranged by the Canadian Coast Guard College. Selected candidates are required to bring with them the following original documents: Canadian Passport, Birth Certificate and if applicable their Canadian Citizenship.
